Black Tea

All tea comes from the Camilla sinensis plant. There are
over 3,000 varieties of the bush grown in mountainous
areas around the world. Currently, India & China export
the most tea. Japan exports less than it consumes so they
also buy from China.

All tea has a process it undergoes before it is sold.
This process is specific to each variety of tea. Black tea, the
most popular variety, offers a hearty flavor and deep reddish
color that results from an extensive fermentation process
that includes exposing crushed tea leaves to the air for a
set amount of time until they are fully oxidized and dried.
Black tea contains the most caffeine and the least amount
of antioxidants due to the extensive fermentation process.
