Reiki

What is Reiki?  Beautiful and mysterious, Reiki is the energy of life itself.  We are told that it is “Universal Life Energy” but what does that mean?  Reiki is prana, chi, ki, energy you have in abundance already or you could not be reading these words.  The discipline of Reiki comes to us from Japan.  “Rei” meaning essence of creation and “Ki” is power or energy.  Once we have been initiated into Reiki by a qualified Reiki Master, we can then practice.  The most common way to practice is by placing our hands on someone (especially our own beloved selves!) and allowing them to be filled with this Divine energy.  Every major religious tradition, and many not so traditional paths, utilize a form of hands-on healing and we all instinctively know that hands heal. Reiki magnifies the healing inherent as a possibility through our simple humanity and encourages us to ever expanding possibilities of what it means to be human.  As a fully heart centered practice, Reiki is the ultimate unifier.
